The Aga Derlak Trio was created in December 2012, on the initiative of an exceptionally talented pianist, Agnieszka Derlak. The group perform mostly their own compositions, as well as some very surprising arrangements of well-known jazz pieces. They dedicate to jazz but also to improvised music as well. Their perfect skills, paired with a noteworthy bravado and energy make Aga DerlakTrio one of the most promising jazz ensembles in Poland. The group is co-created by students of the Jazz Class at Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Warsaw and Music Academy of Karol Szymanowski in Katowice. The trio won the second prize at the prestigious competition Jazz Juniors, became the finalist at the jazz competition RCK and recently, they were honoured during the All-Poland Competition of Young Jazz and Blues Groups in Gdynia in Poland.
