The rhythm section is created by the musicians of the Audiofeeling Band\, whereas the guests are thematically related to the work of the artist that is presented. Each concert serves not only a meeting with the history of jazz music but also gives a unique opportunity to listen to (live!) the outstanding guests of Paweł Kaczmarczyk. \nMICHEL PETRUCCIANI\n \n(1962-1999) \n \nMichel Petrucciani was a French jazz pianist. From birth he had osteogenesis imperfecta\, a genetic disease that causes brittle bones and\, in his case\, short stature\, he became one of the most accomplished jazz pianists of his generation despite having arms which caused him pain. \nPetrucciani was raised in a highly musical Italo-French family and developed a love for piano at age 3 upon seeing Duke Ellington perform on television. Less than a year later\, at age 4\, Petrucciani began his studies in piano. Overcoming the obstacles of his genetic disease included building aids to reach the piano pedals\, and he played his first professional concert at age 13. By age 18\, he’d moved to the U.S.\, where he began performing with Charles Lloyd. Gigs with Wayne Shorter\, Jim Hall and Dizzy Gillespie would follow. \n \nPAWEŁ KACZMARCZYK \n \nb. February 8\, 1984 in Krakow\, Poland – Polish pianist\, arranger\, composer and sideman. \n“Listening to the way Paweł Kaczmarczyk gets sounds out of the keys\, we can understand what full-blooded\, completely engaged jazz piano playing is all about.”Howard Reich – CHICAGO TRIBUNE \nThe artist’s third album “Complexity in Simplicity”\, issued by the prestigious label ACT Music\, opened the door to an international career for the pianist. The album was recognized as “Album of The Year”\, and Paweł Kaczmarczyk named “Pianist of The Year”.
