SUMMARY:TRIBUTE TO PAUL DESMOND
DESCRIPTION:The Sound of Dry Martini – this is how Paul Desmond used to describe his unique sound of the alto saxophone\, which remains irreplaceable to this day. However\, sound is not everything – as an absolute master of melody\, he created his individual style of improvisation\, drawing many elements from classical music\, which he masterfully incorporated into the framework of jazz music. You will hear the artist’s legendary compositions\, both from the days of the Dave Brubeck Quartet and from his later collaborations with Gerry Mulligan and Jim Hall.\nOn April 13\, the Filip Szostek Quintet\, a formation consisting of musicians from the Academy of Music in Krakow\, will perform on the Harris Piano Jazz bar stage: \nFilip Szostek – Alto Sax\nMichał Jędros – Guitar\nFilip Gąsiorowski – Piano\nSzymon Mika – Double Bass\nArtur Małecki – Drums \n*tickets: 25/30 pln \nIt doesn’t matter whether Jazz is an integral part of your everyday life or just a rare addition to the daily basis – you can’t miss it! \n
