The project is dedicated to a brilliant Ray Charles.

We encourage you to come and hear compositions of the legend of soul in the interpretation of two outstanding personalities of Polish jazz: Jorgos Skolias – famous Polish singer&composer andPaweł Kaczmarczyk – one of the greatest jazz pianists of the young generation.

Directions in Music: Ray Charles is a unique, both vocal and instrumental, European-scale project , featuring the music of Ray Charles in a innovative jazz arrangements. The creator of new interpretations of such famous songs as “Hit the Road Jack” and “Unchain My Heart” is Pawel Kaczmarczyk, who decided to breathe in compositions his rebellious stage nature, so that they gain an exceptional and surprising face.

Jazz quartet is completed by two outstanding musicians, who accompany Pawel Kaczmarczyk also in many other projects:Maciej Adamczak (bass) and Dawid Fortuna (drums). Maciej Adamczak is a graduate of the Department of Jazz and Contemporary Music Academy in Katowice and won numerous awards, including the Jazz Juniors’s prize, what instantaneous ensures the highest level of artistry. The accompanying David Fortuna, despite his young age, still climbs higher and higher floors of a musical career, and thanks to his immense talent and hard work he already works with the best Polish and foreign artists.

Musicians present modern jazz arrangements of the greatest Ray Charles’s hits created by Pawel Kaczmarczyk, including I Can Not Stop Loving You, Hit The Road Jack, Unchain My Heart, Do Not Set Me Free, Here We Go Again, Georgia on My Mind.

Concerts in the series Directions in Music: Ray Charles are very popular and always gain enthusiastic reception of audience – in every second listeners are surprised by its original presentation and a new definition of Ray Charles’s music. This project was successfully presented in Poland and turned out to be a huge success among wide spectrum of audience, also in smaller cities that did not expect such a large interest of audience.
