Whether performing in a packed European festival with his trio, or playing a late-night solo piano concert in a Tel-Aviv jazz club, pianist Ari Erev’s music always tells a story.

His highly melodic and richly harmonious music is rooted in the tradition of great modern jazz trios (Evans, Jarrett, Barron). At the same time, it draws substantial inspiration from energetic, fresh Latin rhythms, and from Israeli music, producing a mature voice of his own, as showcased in his latest album „Close to Home”.

Described by ‚All About Jazz’ as “one of the finest pianists on the international jazz scene today” and praised by ‚Bebop Spoken Here’ for his “wonderful and beautiful… superb synergy of jazz and world music,… inspired, and spontaneous musicianship”, his audiences are deeply moved by the warm atmosphere he creates, where personal experiences are reflected in the music he performs.

Playing in some distinguished European venues and Jazz festivals, Erev cooperated with outstanding international musicians: Joel Frahm and Freddie Hendrix (USA), Rosta Fras (Czechia), Felice Reggio (Italy), Agnes Lakatos and Tibor Csuhaj Barna (Hungary), and Yuval Cohen („3 Cohens”), to name a few.
